Rolki [ ˈrɔlkʲi ] ( German Rollken ) is a place in the Polish Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship , which belongs to the Gmina Biała Piska ( town and country municipality Bialla , 1938 to 1945 Gehlenburg ) in the powiat Piski ( Johannisburg district ).
Geographical location
Rolki is located in the south-east of the Warmia-Masurian Voivodeship , 23 kilometers east of the district town of Pisz ( German Johannisburg ).
history
The small village called Rollken before 1945 was incorporated into the newly established Belzonzen district in 1874 (renamed “Großdorf District (Ostpr.)” In 1938), which belonged to the Johannisburg district .
On December 1, 1910, Rollken had 191 residents.
On September 30, 1928, the rural community of Rollken gave up its independence and merged with the rural community of Kosuchen and the Kommorowen manor district (1938 to 1945 Ebhardtshof , in Polish Komorowo ) to form the new rural community of Kosuchen (1938 to 1945 Kölmerfelde , in Polish Kożuchy ).
In 1945, as a result of the war, Rollken was transferred to Poland with all of southern East Prussia and was given the Polish name “Rolki”. Today it is part of the urban and rural community Biała Piska in the Powiat Piski , until 1998 the Suwałki Voivodeship , since then the Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship .

Rollken was parish in the Protestant Church of Bialla in the church province of East Prussia of the Church of the Old Prussian Union and in the Roman Catholic Church of Johannisburg in the Diocese of Warmia .
Today, on the Catholic side, Rolki belongs to the parish Biała Piska with the branch church Kożuchy in the diocese of Ełk of the Roman Catholic Church in Poland . The Protestant residents orientate themselves to their parish in Biała Piska of the parish Pisz within the diocese of Masuria of the Evangelical-Augsburg Church in Poland .

Rolki is located on the busy west-east traffic axis Landesstrasse 58 , which connects the southern Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship with the Podlaskie Voivodeship . A side road from the northern neighboring region ends in Rolki, which has no rail connection.
