Szkody-Kolonia (Polish for a short time also: Olszyna, German Friedensruh ) is a small town in the Polish Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship and belongs to the Gmina Biała Piska ( city and rural community Bialla (1938 to 1945 Gehlenburg )) in the powiat Piski ( Johannisburg district ) .
Geographical location
Szkody-Kolonia is located in the south-east of the Warmia-Masurian Voivodeship , 17 kilometers south-east of the district town of Pisz ( German Johannisburg ).
history
On August 28, 1899, the small place called " Abbau Einwaldt " was renamed "Friedensruh". It consisted of a large courtyard with several farms and was until 1945 a town within the city Bialla (1938 to 1945 Gehlenburg , Polish Biala Piska ) that the county Johannesburg in Administrative district Gumbinnen (1905: Administrative district Allenstein ) in the Prussian province of East Prussia belonged .
In war-induced Friedensruh 1945 came along with the entire southern East Prussia to Poland , however, and was initially the name of the form "Olszyna" then called "Szkody-Kolonia". Today the place is integrated into the urban and rural municipality Biała Piska in the powiat Piski , until 1998 part of the Suwałki Voivodeship , since then it belongs to the Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship .

Friedensruh was parish up until 1945 in the Protestant Church of Bialla in the church province of East Prussia of the Church of the Old Prussian Union and in the Roman Catholic Church of Johannisburg ( Pisz in Polish ) in the Diocese of Warmia . Today the place belongs to the Catholic side of the parish Biała Piska in the diocese of Ełk of the Roman Catholic Church in Poland . The Protestant residents also orientate themselves towards Biała Piska, whereby their parish is today a branch parish of the parish in Pisz and belongs to the Masuria diocese of the Evangelical-Augsburg Church in Poland .
