Klarewo ( German  Klarashof ) is a small place in the Polish Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship , which belongs to the Gmina Biała Piska ( town and country municipality Bialla , 1938 to 1945 Gehlenburg ) in the powiat Piski ( Johannisburg district ).

Geographical location

Klarewo is located in the south-east of the Warmia-Masurian Voivodeship, 21 kilometers northeast of the district town of Pisz ( German  Johannisburg ).

history

The hamlet ( Osada in Polish ) was founded in 1822 as a Vorwerk and was integrated into the rural community of Drygallen (1938 to 1945 Drigelsdorf , Polish Drygały ) until 1945 . In order for the small place to belong circle Johannesburg in Administrative district Gumbinnen (1905: Administrative district Allenstein ) in the Prussian province of East Prussia .

In war-induced Klarashof 1945 came with the entire southern East Prussia to Poland and received the Polish form of the name "Klarewo". Today it is part of the urban and rural municipality of Biała Piska in Powiat Piski , until 1998 of the Suwałki Voivodeship , since then it has belonged to the Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship .

Religions

Until 1945 Klarashof was parish in the Protestant Church of Drygallen in the church province of East Prussia of the Church of the Old Prussian Union and in the Roman Catholic Church of Johannisburg in the Diocese of Warmia .

Today, on the Catholic side, Klarewo belongs to the parish Drygaly in the Diocese of Ełk of the Roman Catholic Church in Poland , while the Protestant residents belong to the parish in Biała Piska, a subsidiary of the Pisz parish in the Masurian diocese of the Evangelical-Augsburg Church in Poland .
