Świdry Kościelne [ ˈɕfʲidrɨ kɔɕˈt͡ɕɛlnɛ ] is a village in the Polish Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship and belongs to the Gmina Biała Piska ( town and country municipality Bialla , 1938 to 1945 Gehlenburg ) in the powiat Piski ( Johannisburg district ).

Geographical location

Świdry Kościelne is located in the south-east of the Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship , 24 kilometers south-east of the district town of Pisz ( German  Johannisburg ).

history

There is no evidence of the history of the place before 1945. It can be assumed that the village was not formed until after 1945. Today it is the seat of a Schulzenamt ( Polish Sołectwo ) and thus a village in the network of the urban and rural municipality Biała Piska in the Powiat Piski, until 1998 the Suwałki Voivodeship , since then part of the Warmia-Masurian Voivodeship. The number of inhabitants in 2011 was 244.

On the church side, Świdry Kościelne is oriented towards Biała Piska and belongs to the local Catholic parish in the diocese of Ełk and to the Protestant parish , a subsidiary of Pisz in the Diocese of Masuria .

Świdry Kościelne is located south of the national road 58 and can be reached from there via Świdry (Schwiddern) on a side road to Cibory (Czyborren , 1938 to 1945 Steinen (Ostpr.)) . There is no train connection.
