Zatorze [ zaˈtɔʐɛ ] is a small town in the Polish Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship , which belongs to the Gmina Biała Piska ( town and country municipality Bialla , 1938 to 1945 Gehlenburg ) in the powiat Piski ( Johannisburg district ).
Zatorze is located in the south-east of the Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship, 16 kilometers east of the district town of Pisz ( German Johannisburg ).
There are no reports or documents about the establishment and history of the colony (in Polish: Kolonia ) on the outskirts of Biała Piska , not even whether it had a German name before 1945. It is possible that the small town was only created after 1945. It is a dependent village in the network of the urban and rural municipality Biała Piska within the Powiat Piski.
Ecclesiastically, Zatorze belongs to the Roman Catholic parish in Biała Piska in the Diocese of Ełk of the Roman Catholic Church in Poland and to the Protestant parish in Biała Piska, a subsidiary of the Pisz parish in the Masurian diocese of the Evangelical Augsburg Church in Poland .
Zatorze is only a few hundred meters from the center of Biała Piska. In the city there is also the nearest train station and is on the Olsztyn – Ełk ( German Allenstein – Lyck ) railway line .
