Lebusa is considered to be a representative of the second generation of the " New Leipzig School ". She works with pencils, watercolors and oil paints and mostly creates small-format, surreal collages and drawings in which she addresses the network of relationships between the sexes. The art historian Karin Pernegger on Lebusa's pictures: “Objects, facial expressions, gestures or actions between people appear that cannot be classified. Environments that seem strangely familiar but also out-of-place. As a result, the works convey an intangible tension that draws the viewer into the visual world and at the same time keeps them at a distance. The works give an insight into a seemingly isolated, strange world. You peer into a forbidden space like through a keyhole and can feel like a voyeur or like looking into the abyss - you are both happy and sad to be outside ”.
A series of her drawings and collages from 2001 to 2011 were purchased in 2011 by the Cultural Foundation of the Free State of Saxony for the Dresden State Art Collections.
