Karin Pernegger

Karin Pernegger (* 1973 in Bruges ) is a Belgian-born Austrian art historian and curator who lives in Innsbruck. She publishes as an author and editor on contemporary international art .

Life

Karin Pernegger studied communication sciences and art history at the University of Salzburg and from 1999 to 2000 completed postgraduate studies at the Nantes Art College with Robert Fleck . She has worked as a freelance curator since 1999, including for the Salzburger Kunstverein , the Museumsquartier Wien and the Austrian Cultural Forum New York . From 2005 to 2010 she headed the Stadtgalerie Schwaz, from March 2010 to 2012 she was curator at the Kunsthalle Krems . She has been heading the Kunstraum Innsbruck since 2013.

From 2000 to 2004 she was a member of the Advisory Board for Fine Arts of the Austrian Federal Ministry for Education, Art and Culture and has been a member of the International Association of Curators of Contemporary Art (IKT) since 2002 .
