The Vöhlerbach , also called Vöhler Bach and in the upper reaches of Seebach , in the Hessian district Limburg-Weilburg is a 14.3 km long, western and orographically right tributary of the Lahn in the Westerwald .

course

The stream rises as a Seebach in the eastern part of the Westerwald . Its source is located in the Upper Westerwald hill country - about 900 m west-southwest of the village away from the watercourse located Mengerskirchen  - on the southern slope of Gray Mountain (about  495  m above sea level.  NHN ) in Hof Weissenburg to approximately 432  m altitude.

The mainly south-east running brook initially flows as a Seebach east of the Seeköppel (approx.  420  m ), where it flows through the nature reserve Stauwurzel des Seeweiher near Mengerskirchen and, after the confluence of the Winnauer Bach , the Seeweiher Mengerskirchen ; There is a campsite on the still water .

Then the Seebach passes the Lauersberg to the west (approx.  347  m ) and the Rückershausen to the east . Shortly afterwards it flows along the western edge of the Rückershäuser Moor nature reserve , where the Klingelbach, coming from the north-west from the nearby village of Waldernbach , joins; There are several fish ponds between the two villages near the stream. After the confluence of a flowing water, also known as Seebach , it passes the Erlenhof farm and the Füllberg ( Füllburg ; approx.  358  m ), the former summit of which was removed in a basalt quarry.

East of the Füllbergs branches off from Seebach a channel from which km to about 1.1 flow path around 200 m southwest of Seebach lying Vöhler Weiher reached, the addition to the water of the channel by that of a 500 m long Bach is fed and as a natural sight reported is; The former Vöhler mill and a campsite are located on the still water . The water from the canal and the stream combined in the pond flows 400 m below it into the flowing water, henceforth called the Vöhlerbach .

Then the Vöhlerbach , after confluence in the south of Reichenbornbach and Kirchbach , flows directly south of Barig-Selbenhausen and then passes the farms Steinkehof , Petersmoorer Hof , Pfannerhof and Crombacher Hof . In this valley area it runs between the mountains Rödern ( 397.1  m ), Almerskopf ( 336.4  m ) and Bühl ( 268  m ) in the north as well as Hohburg ( 395.5  m ), Roter Kopf ( 391  m ) and Hinterster Kopf ( 382.7  m ) in the south, on which, with the exception of Rödern and Bühl, there are ring walls (such as that of the Almerskopf castle ).

Finally , the Vöhlerbach flows into the Löhnberger valley widening belonging to the Weilburger Lahntal area at the Löhnberger Hütte , located northwest of Löhnberg - about 200 m north of the federal highway 49  - at about 145  m above sea level in the Lahn tributary Kallenbach, which comes from about north there .
