Cornélio Ximenes (* in Lospalos , Portuguese Timor ), battle name Mau-Nana , or Maunana Bobar Mate , is an East Timorese officer.

Career

Ximenes became a member when the Forças Armadas de Libertação Nacional de Timor-Leste (FALINTIL) was founded on August 20, 1975. He fought first in the civil war in East Timor in 1975 and then against the Indonesian invaders (1975-1999) in various leading positions, most recently as a colonel on the general staff. Under the United Nations interim administration for East Timor (1999-2002), the FALINTIL was transferred to the Defense Forces of East Timor (F-FDTL). Ximenes was made lieutenant colonel on June 21, 2001 and chief of the information division of the F-FDTL. In 2010 he was promoted to colonel and moved to the command post of the support and service unit (CAS). Ximenes later became an advisor in the Prime Minister's Cabinet to the Serviço Nacional de Inteligência (SNI). In 2018 he was General Inspector of the F-FDTL.

On June 7, 2018, he was promoted to Brigadier General.

The wife of Ximenes, Luiza Ximenes is the sister of the freedom fighter Fernando Txai Teles do Nascimento .
