Cornelia Horz

Cornelia Horz (born August 11, 1957 in Dornstetten-Hallwangen ) is a German lawyer and current President of the Stuttgart Higher Regional Court . Before that, she was president of the regional courts in Ravensburg and Stuttgart .

Life

Horz grew up in the Dornstetten district of Hallwangen and, after graduating from high school, initially trained as a legal clerk . After briefly working as a judicial inspector at the Stuttgart District Court , she began studying law at the University of Tübingen , which she completed after 7 semesters with the first state examination. After successfully passing the second state examination, she entered the higher judicial service of the state of Baden-Württemberg with effect from March 2, 1987 . After positions at the Ulm Regional Court , the Stuttgart Public Prosecutor's Office and the Stuttgart-Bad Cannstatt District Court , he was seconded to the Baden-Württemberg Ministry of Justice in 1990.

In 1994 Horz moved to the Stuttgart Regional Court as a judge , where she worked until 1997. During this time there was also a trial at the Stuttgart Higher Regional Court. With effect from December 23, 1997 she was appointed judge at the Higher Regional Court; the change to this court was connected with it. Among other things, she was responsible for training legal trainees at the OLG. In 1999 there was another move to the Ministry of Justice, where Horz was responsible for the management of the civil law division and was also appointed president of the state examination office in 2003. In 2007 she moved to the Ravensburg Regional Court , where she was appointed President of the Regional Court in November of that year. Almost two years later, Horz moved again to Stuttgart; there she was appointed Deputy President of the Higher Regional Court with effect from August 1, 2009.

With effect from February 25, 2013, she took over as President of what is by far the largest regional court in the State of Baden-Württemberg, the Stuttgart Regional Court. On October 5, 2017, Horz was presented with the certificate of appointment as President of the Stuttgart Higher Regional Court by Justice Minister Guido Wolf . She is the first woman to head the Stuttgart Higher Regional Court. In her last three presidential offices in Ravensburg and Stuttgart, Horz succeeded Franz Steinle .
