The Ravensburg Regional Court is a court of ordinary jurisdiction . It is one of 17 regional courts in Baden-Württemberg .

Seat and District of the Court

The regional court has its seat in Ravensburg . The judicial district includes the districts of Ravensburg and Biberach as well as parts of the districts of Sigmaringen and Bodenseekreis .

Courthouse

The court has been housed in the former Carmelite monastery at Marienplatz 7 in Ravensburg since 1869. The adjoining monastery church is used today as the Protestant town church.

Superordinate and subordinate courts

The Stuttgart Higher Regional Court is superordinate to the Ravensburg Regional Court. The district courts in Bad Saulgau , Bad Waldsee , Biberach , Leutkirch , Ravensburg , Riedlingen , Tettnang and Wangen are subordinate .

President of the Ravensburg Regional Court is Thomas Dörr. He is the successor to Cornelia Horz, who was appointed Vice President of the Stuttgart Higher Regional Court in August 2009.

Exhibitions

Since 1999 the Kunstverein Justitia e. V. regular exhibitions with works by artists from the region in the district court building.

Personalities

Before his retirement in 1963, the People's Court judge Paul Reimers was a district judge in Ravensburg.
