Cornelius Adler (born January 21, 1989 in Braunschweig ) is a German basketball player . He was last in the squad of the second division club Hamburg Towers until the end of the 2016/17 season .

Career

His career as a basketball player began in his hometown of Braunschweig in 2006. There he played from 2006 to 2008 both in the youth basketball league and at SG Braunschweig .

In summer 2008 he moved to Erdgas Ehingen / Urspring School in the ProB. This club sees itself as a training club for young players, so that usually a relatively large number of young German players are under contract there. During his time at the Urspring School , he completed his community service there .

For the 2010/2011 season, he moved to the BG Göttingen and thus for the first time to a club in the basketball Bundesliga . However, he received only a little playing time, so that both sides agreed in December 2010 to terminate the contract. He then joined the Nuremberg Basketball Club (then ProB) for the rest of the season. In April 2011, his contract with NBC was extended for two years. Thanks to the Dragons Rhöndorf's withdrawal from the ProA, Cornelius Adler was able to move up to the ProA together with Nuremberg for the 2011/2012 season. In June 2013, the contract with Adler, which had meanwhile become a crowd favorite in Nuremberg, was extended for another two years.

In May 2014 he moved to his hometown to the Basketball Löwen Braunschweig and thus back to the 1st basketball league. He signed a contract until the end of the 2015/16 season.

In June 2016, Adler was signed by Hamburg Towers from the 2nd Bundesliga ProA , but in his only season with the team because of an Achilles tendon operation he only made seven missions for the Hanseatic League.
