Cornelius Nice

Cornelius Johann Joseph Netter (born February 4, 1883 in Jablunkau , † December 23, 1954 in Berlin ) was a German mechanical engineer and university professor.

Life

Netter graduated from high school in Teschen in 1893 and then studied mechanical engineering at the Vienna University of Technology , graduating in 1905. In 1904 he began to study political science and law at the University of Vienna , in 1908 he passed the state examination, and in the same year he received his doctorate. jur.

He then worked for a short time as a designer in the Kalker Maschinenfabrik in Cologne-Kalk . From December 1909 he first worked as a designer and assembly manager at the Witkowitz iron works . He gained experience in the pipe mill, in the profile rolling mill, in the repair workshops and in the switch factory and in 1924 became the operations manager of 17 rolling mills, the associated finishing shops, repair shops and auxiliary companies. From 1929 to 1935 he worked as works director of the Herminenhütte ironworks in Laband and as director of the rolling mill in Zawadzki .

In 1934 he accepted a professorship for metallurgical machinery and rolling mills at the Technical University of Breslau . On October 1, 1934, he became director of the Institute for Rolling Mills. In 1936 he was also given a teaching position for business administration, and from 1937 he also taught economics. In January 1945 the Faculty of Mining and Metallurgy was transferred to the Bergakademie Freiberg . On February 1, 1946, Cornelius Netter became a full professor of deformation science and director of the metal forming institute at the Bergakademie. From 1946 to 1949 he was Vice Dean of the Faculty of Mining and Metallurgy. He retired on June 30, 1954, and died a short time later in Berlin.
