Claire Winslow travels to Switzerland , where she gives her fiancé Will Gallagher a letter and wants to spend some time with him on occasion. However, Gallagher is missing. Winslow opens the letter in which the Central American country Coronado is mentioned. She travels there spontaneously.
Civil war rages in Coronado; one wing of the hotel Winslow is checking into is blown up by the rebels. The television reporter Arnet McClure helps her with the further search. He agrees, one of them for 500 dollars to bring in the headquarters of the rebels. On the way, the group drives through the home village of the rebel leader Rafael, which was destroyed by government troops. Only General Rafael's little sister survived.
The group carefully crossed a wooden bridge with their truck, which is about to collapse under the load. She is shot at by a government aircraft, parts of the bridge are destroyed. Winslow falls into the river, she is later found on the river bank by the rebels and taken to headquarters.
In the quarters it turns out that Gallagher is supplying the rebels with weapons on behalf of the US government. Winslow feels betrayed and hits him.
The rebels are planning a general attack on the capital. Three helicopters are supposed to bring Gallagher's weapons from a ship. At the same time, Gallagher, McClure and Winslow are said to penetrate the capital, take over the station and broadcast Rafael's recorded call for an uprising.
The alleged delivery turns out to be a trap and the rebel helicopters are destroyed. Gallagher turns out to be a secret government agent, McClure and Winslow are arrested. McClure is to be executed in the courtyard of the presidential palace. The rebels attack, but government tanks are in front of the presidential palace. The rebel air force destroys the tanks, the palace complex is stormed. Winslow saves McClure's life at the last moment.

The lexicon of international films described the film as a " superficial mercenary and adventure film " that " seeks its salvation in a variety of computer-animated effects ". He offers entertainment " at the level of a computer game ".
The magazine TV direkt 8/2007 wrote that the film was " B-lean quark without any nutritional value ".
The magazine Fernsehen Today from February 2005 describes the film as "an accumulation of predictable and exaggerated action scenes without any content or reference to reality ".
