Corque ( Aymara : Kurki ) is a town in the Oruro department in the South American Andean state of Bolivia .
Location in the vicinity
Corque is the central place of the district ( Bolivian : Municipio ) Corque and the administrative seat of the province of Carangas . The village is located at an altitude of 3775 m in the river valley of the Río Corque at the southern end of the Serranía de Huayllamarca , an approximately 100 km long ridge that extends on the Altiplano in a north-west-south-east direction.

Corque is located in the Andean dry climate of the Altiplano , between the ridges of the Cordillera Oriental and the Cordillera Occidental . The region's climate is typical of the time of day , with mean temperatures fluctuating more during the day than during the year.
The annual average temperature is 7 ° C (see Corque climate diagram), the monthly average values fluctuate between 3 ° C in June / July and around 10 ° C from December to February.
