Corrie van Binsbergen (* 1957 ) is a Dutch guitarist (acoustic, electric, bass guitar) and composer of jazz , pop, improvising music and crossover.

Binsbergen, who has been playing the guitar since she was nine, studied classical guitar at the Utrecht Conservatory after a year of studying philosophy (while preparing for the conservatory) , graduating in 1983. She then played in the sextet "Utrecht Improvisation Laboratory" and in 1985 as a bass guitarist in the bands Melodoewaps ”(with the singers Peggy Larson and Astrid Seriese) and“ Girltalk ”(with the Dutch jazz musicians Floor van Zutphen and Rosa King as well as Elton Dean ). In 1986 she went on tour with the English funk band "Ackee".

In the same year she founded her band “Corrie en de Brokken” with Angelo Verploegen and Tobias Delius (which existed until 1991, after which she re-established the band in 1995/6), with whom she played a mix called “Collage Funk " is called. They went on tour and performed at the North Sea Jazz Festival in 1987 . In 1988 she recorded the album "Seven Slowhands" with guitarists Franky Douglas and Vincent van Warmerdam, and in 1989 she went on tour with the band of the same name from Russia via Mongolia to China and Indonesia. From 1989 she toured with the "Lazybones" with Martin van Duynhoven (drums), Ernst Glerum (bass) and Vera Vingerhoeds . With Vera Vingerhoeds she also played in a group "KNVB" in the 1990s (appearance at the North Sea Jazz Festival 1996). During this time she also appeared as part of the female pop band "Girls wanna have fun"; at the Global Village Festival 2006 she appeared as part of the women's band Adyuuma . She continued to work with Rob Verdurmens drummers Double Bill and Chris Abelen . With the band Cram (with Rutger van Otterloo and organist Carlo de Wijs ) she released the album For a Dog . In 2013 she released the solo album Self Portrait in Pale Blue .

She is also recognized as a composer; she wrote for the Tetzepi Bigtet , the ASKO Ensemble (premiere on April 24, 2007), Combustion Chamber and the Belgian big band FES . She also composes for theater and dance projects (even for the circus and for silent films), for example for the Scapino Ballet in Rotterdam, as well as television productions. One of her influences is Frank Zappa ; therefore she appeared on the Zappa Day in The Hague in 1997 and on the Zappa Festival in Bad Doberan in 2006.
