Cosimo Stawiarski

Cosimo Stawiarski (* 1974 in Copertino ) is an Italian violinist .

Life

Stawiarski studied baroque violin at the Hochschule für Künste in Bremen, with Chiara Banchini at the Schola Cantorum Basiliensis and with Lucy van Dael at the Sweelinck Conservatory in Amsterdam . He also studied musicology at the Christian Albrechts University in Kiel .

The focus of his work is the research and reproduction of North and Central German music from the late 17th and early 18th centuries. He played with Jordi Savall , Hermann Max , Frieder Bernius , Paul Goodwin and Howard Arman . He also performs with the “Lautten Compagney”, the “Leipziger Barockorchester”, the “Capriccio Basel” ensemble, the “ Chapelle Rhénane ” and the “Johann Rosenmüller Ensemble” and is a permanent member of the “Les Cornets Noirs” ensemble. The latter made a sound carrier recording with works by Giovanni Lenzei , which was awarded record prizes.

As a publisher, he and his publisher Musica Poetica dedicate himself to lesser-known vocal and instrumental music of the 17th and 18th centuries and in this way often makes it accessible again for musical practice.
