Countess Vaughn

Countess Danielle Vaughn (born August 8, 1978 in Idabel , Oklahoma , United States ) is an American actress and singer . She is best known as Kimberly Ann Parker on the sitcoms Moesha and The Parkers .

Life

Vaughn began singing in the local church choir as a toddler . In 1988, at the age of nine, she entered Star Search with the Jackson 5 title "I'll Be There" and won. In the same year Vaughn started her acting career as Alexandria DeWitt on NBC Sitcom 227 , followed by guest appearances and supporting roles in other TV series such as Thea , Echt super, Mr. Cooper and Roc . Vaughn also appeared on various talk shows and appeared in Musica Mama, I Want To Sing! With. In 1992, Vaughn released her debut album Countess at the age of 14. The album flopped and did not enter any of the many US Billboard music album charts.

She got her biggest role to date in Moesha in 1996 , where she played the lead role for four seasons alongside R&B singer and actress Brandy . In 1998 she received an Image Award for Best Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series for portraying the role of Kimberly Ann Parker. In 1999 Vaughn made her feature film debut in the comedy Trippen . That same year, Vaughn received her own spin-off series for Moesha called The Parkers . In this series, she continued to play Kim Parker, this time alongside Oscar winner Mo'Nique , who played her mother. The series aired in four seasons through 2004. In 2006 she had a speaking role in the TV films of the Wayans brothers Thugaboo and Thugaboo 2 .
