Courtallam ( Tamil : குற்றாலம் Kuṟṟālam [ ˈkutːraːlʌm ], also Courtalam, Kutralam, Kuttalam ) is a place in the southern Indian state of Tamil Nadu with around 2,000 inhabitants (2011 census).

Courtallam is located at the foot of the Western Ghats in the Tirunelveli district in southern Tamil Nadu. The next largest city is Tenkasi five kilometers northeast. The district capital Tirunelveli is 57 kilometers southeast, to Chennai (Madras), the capital of Tamil Nadu, it is 620 kilometers. The nearest train station is in Tenkasi.

Courtallam is known for its waterfalls. There are a total of nine waterfalls in and around Courtallam. The largest of them is the 60 meter high Peraruvi ("great waterfall"). Thanks to its waterfalls, Courtallam, nicknamed the “ Spa of the South”, is a major destination for domestic tourists. The main season is during the summer monsoon between June and September, when the heavy rains in the Western Ghats make the waterfalls swell.

In addition to the waterfalls, Courtallam is known for the Tirukutralanathaswamy Temple. He is dedicated to the Hindu god Shiva as Tirukutralanathar ("Lord of Courtallam"). The temple of Courtallam is one of the "five dance halls" ( Pancha Sabha ), a group of five temples in which Shiva in his manifestation as a group of five temples, along with the Nataraja temple in Chidambaram , the Minakshi temple in Madurai and the temples of Tiruvalangadu and Tirunelveli Nataraja , "King of Dance", performs his cosmic dance.

94 percent of Courtallam's residents are Hindus , about 3 percent each are Christians and Muslims . As in all of Tamil Nadu, the main language is Tamil, which is spoken by over 99 percent of the population as their mother tongue.
