Courtney Fortson (born May 23, 1988 in Montgomery , Alabama ) is an American basketball player . Most recently he played for Avtodor Saratov in Russia in the position of playmaker.
Career
Courtney Fortson was not selected in the 2010 NBA draft . He signed a contract with the Romanian Steaua Bucharest in November 2010. He left Romania after two months and signed with Reno Bighorns in the NBA D-League in March 2011 . In November 2011 he got a contract with league competitor Los Angeles D-Fenders . Fortson had his only seasons so far in the NBA in 2012. In January he got a 10-day contract with Los Angeles Clippers and in March also a 10-day contract with Houston Rockets . The next season Fortson played again in the D-League at Los Angeles D-Fenders. Here he was invited to the D-League All-Star Game 2012/13. For the 2013-14 season, Fortson went to Avtodor Saratov in the Russian Super League . He won the Super League with his club and was voted MVP of the season. In the next season 2014/15 he played with Awtodor in the VTB-UL . Here he was voted Player of the Month in December 2014. In the same season he played with Awtodor in the EuroChallenge . In both tournaments he reached the play-offs with his club .
