Coy is a civil parish in Wilcox County in the state of Alabama in the United States .
geography
Coy is located in southwest Alabama in the southern United States. The area is about 3.5 km south of the 502 km long Alabama River , which merges into the Mobile River in the south and finally flows into the Mobile Bay and Gulf of Mexico .
Nearby locations include Yellow Bluff (8 km north), Lower Peach Tree (10 km southwest), Hybart (10 km southeast) and Vredenburgh (14 km southeast).

history
In 1832 the Dry Fork Plantation was established, which is now one of many historic plantations in the area. The post office was opened in 1891.
