Craig Lindsay Lefferts (born September 29, 1957 in Munich ) is a former German-American relief pitcher of Major League Baseball . Since 2016, Lefferts has been Minor League Rehab Pitching Coordinator in the organization of Oakland Athletics , for whose franchise he previously worked as a pitching coach in the minor leagues for 12 years.

During his playing days, Lefferts played with the Chicago Cubs , San Diego Padres , San Francisco Giants , Baltimore Orioles , Texas Rangers and the California Angels .

Lefferts played during his teenage years at the University of Arizona , with whom he won the College World Series title in 1980. In the 1980 MLB Draft , he was selected in the ninth round by the Chicago Cubs, for which he made his debut on April 7, 1983.

In 1984 he was able to win the National League with the San Diego Padres . He did the same in the jersey of the San Francisco Giants in 1989.

The 1986 season ended Lefferts as the player who has pitched the most games in the National League. In total he was used 83 times this season.
