Craven is a district in North Yorkshire in England . The administrative seat is the city of Skipton . Other significant locations are Bentham , Settle , Clapham and Sutton-in-Craven .
The district was formed on April 1, 1974 and was the result of the merger of the Urban District Skipton, the Rural District Settle and most of the Rural District Skipton.
