Richmondshire is a district in North Yorkshire in England . The administrative seat is the city of Richmond . Other important places are Catterick with Catterick Garrison, Colburn , Hawes and Leyburn .
The district was formed on April 1, 1974 and was formed from the merger of the Municipal Borough of Richmond, the Rural Districts of Aysgarth, Leyburn, Reeth and Richmond and part of the Rural District Croft.
