The Crazy Ken Band (ク レ イ ジ ー ケ ン バ ン ド) is a Japanese rock band.
Band history
Band leader Ken Yokoyama founded the band CKs in 1991 together with Ken Yokoyama, Keiichi Hiroishi, Masao Onose and Shinya Horaguchi. In total, the band grew to 15 members, although only the four aforementioned belonged to the inner core of the group. In 1997, a fifth member was added with Keiichi Nakanishi and the band finally changed its name to the Crazy Ken Band. In 2000, Toraji Shingū was added to the inner core of the band.
The band started with Punch! Punch! Punch! her debut album. Since then the band has released a total of 17 studio albums and numerous other sound carriers. She became famous in 2005 when she released the theme song and soundtrack for the Japanese drama series Tiger & Dragon .
The most successful single in the Oricon charts in 2007 was Tenyawanya Desu yo (て ん や わ ん や で す よ Hectic!) , Which reached number 10. The most successful album was Mousukkari Arenandayone (も う す っ か り あ れ な ん だ よ ね), which reached number 3.
In 2003, HMV Japan voted the group 98th of the Top 100 Japanese Artists.
Music genre
The band can be assigned to the pre-J-pop . She mixes different influences, including rock and roll , pop, enka , soul , punk , jazz , blues , bossa nova and R&B . The lyrics are sentimental and retro . They deal, among other things, with muscle cars , a hobby of Yokoyama, and Japanese culture.
