Crete is located in southeast Nebraska, about 30 km southwest of Lincoln , on Nebraska State Highways 33 and 103 .
history
Crete was created in 1871 when "Blue River City", the place of the first settler Jesse Bickle, with the district, which belonged to the Burlington & Missouri River Railroad , grew together. The city was named after Crete, Illinois . In 1881 the high school's wooden house and three other schools were built. Crete ran twice for election to the county seat (1877 and 1927), but without success. In the first decade of the 20th century, the first theater, “The Lyric”, was built, and in 1915 the “Sokol Hall” was inaugurated, into which a large part of social life then shifted.
