Cristóbal Serra

Cristóbal Serra , Catalan: Cristòfol Serra Simó (born September 24, 1922 in Palma , Balearic Islands , Kingdom of Spain ; † September 6, 2012 ibid) was a Mallorcan author who wrote in Spanish .

Life

Serra studied law at the University of Barcelona and the Universidad Central de Madrid . He then studied Linguistics and Modern Literature at the University of Valencia . His writing activities are very diverse. He was interested, for example, in the works of Chinese philosophers, some of whom he translated. He translated the Biblical Apocalypse, as well as poetry and prose texts by William Blake and Vauvenargues .

In 2010 Serra's only text to date was published in German: Donkey ears . The work, which was published in a limited edition of 999 copies in total, contains a selection of Serra's aphorisms in Spanish and German. Michael Krüger wrote the afterword . Other texts have so far been translated into French, Italian and Serbian.
