Cristian Savani (born February 22, 1982 in Castiglione delle Stiviere ) is an Italian volleyball player .

Career

Savani began his career in 2000 with the fourth division Carpenodolo Volley. A year later he was signed by the first division club Gabeca Montichiari . On November 24, 2001, the attacker made his debut in the Italian national team . With the Italians he reached the final of the world league in 2003 and then became European champion . In 2004 he switched to Itas Diatec Trentino . The following year Italy managed to defend their title at the 2005 European Championship . In 2006 Savani went to M. Roma Volley . He won the CEV Cup with the Romans in 2008 . He was then committed by league competitor RPA Perugia . In 2010 the club won the Challenge Cup . Savani switched to Lube Macerata and repeated the triumph in the Challenge Cup the following year . In the same year, Italy reached the final of the European Championship with the outside attacker . In 2012 Savani became Italian champion with Macerata. With the national team he won the bronze medal at the Olympic Games in London .
