European men's volleyball championship 2005

The 2005 European Men's Volleyball Championship took place from September 2 to 11, 2005 in Rome ( PalaLottomatica ) and Belgrade ( Belgrade Arena ). The tournament in Italy and Serbia and Montenegro was the first European Championship to be held in two countries. Italy eventually won the title.

The tournament began with a preliminary round in two groups of six teams each. The best two teams in each group reached the placement games. Places five to eight were not played out because of the two host countries.
