European men's volleyball championship 1963

The 1963 European men's volleyball championship took place in Romania from October 21 to November 2 . With the Federal Republic and the GDR, Germany provided two of the seventeen participants. The games took place in Bucharest , Brașov , Cluj-Napoca and Târgu Mureș . The hosts won the title unbeaten.

mode

First there was a preliminary round in which the 17 participants were divided into three groups of four and one group of five. The two best teams in each group played in the final group "everyone against everyone" for the title. The remaining teams played from places nine to seventeen. For teams that had already met in the preliminary round, the results were included in the evaluation of the final round.
