1955 European men's volleyball championship

The 1955 European men's volleyball championship took place in Bucharest from June 15 to 26 . The number of participants increased to 14 teams. The German team was not one of them. The Czechoslovakia won the title for the second time.

mode

First there was a preliminary round in which the 14 participants were divided into two groups of four and two groups of three. The two best teams in each group played in the final group "everyone against everyone" for the title. The remaining six teams found places nine to fourteen in a second group.
