European women's volleyball championship in 1967

The 1967 European Women's Volleyball Championship took place in Turkey from October 26th to November 8th . The number of participants rose to fifteen; this also included the West German selection and the GDR. The games were played in Izmir , Ankara , Istanbul and Adana . The Soviet Union won the title for the sixth time.

mode

The fifteen participants were divided into three groups of four and one group of three in the preliminary round. The group winners and runners-up were combined into one group in the final round. In the mode “everyone against everyone” they determined the tournament winner. The remaining teams played for positions nine to fifteen. Results from teams that met in the preliminary round were carried over to the final round.
