1951 European men's volleyball championship
The 1951 European men's volleyball championship took place in Paris from September 12 to 22 . For the first time ten teams took part in the tournament. The German team was not one of them. The Soviet Union defended its title from the previous year without losing a set.
mode
First there was a preliminary round in which the ten participants were divided into two groups of three and one group of four. The two best teams in each group played in the final group "everyone against everyone" for the title. The remaining four teams found places seven to ten in a second group.
