European Women's Volleyball Championship 1963

The 1963 European Women's Volleyball Championship took place in Romania from October 22nd to November 2nd . Germany was represented again with the West German selection and the GDR. The games were played in Constanța , Bucharest and Craiova . The Soviet Union won the title for the fifth time.

mode

The thirteen participants were divided into three groups of three and one group of four in the preliminary round. The group winners and runners-up were combined into one group in the final round. In the mode “everyone against everyone” they determined the tournament winner. The remaining teams played for ranks nine to thirteen. Results from teams that met in the preliminary round were carried over to the final round.
