Cristina North
Cristina Nord (* 1968 in Korbach ) is a German journalist , editor and curator . She has been heading the Berlinale Forum since August 2019 . She received several awards for her film reviews.
Life
Cristina Nord studied general and comparative literature as well as Latin American studies in Berlin and San José ( Costa Rica ) . She made the film tips for Ang Lee's Brokeback Mountain and Christian Petzold's Yella for WDR .
From 2002 to 2015 she worked as a film editor for the taz. the daily newspaper worked. She also writes for the film magazine Cargo , the Standard and the literary magazine kolik . She has published various articles and essays on queer cinema and nouvelle vague allemande. In 2015, True Blood , a book for the US vampire series of the same name, was published by diaphanes Verlag.
In 2012 and 2013 she was a member of the selection committee of the documentary film festival Duisburger Filmwoche . In 2014 she curated the film program for the theme days Telling War in the House of World Cultures .
Since 2015 she has worked for the Goethe-Institut in Brussels for several years, where she worked in the area of program work for the focus Southwest Europe. There she organized, among other things, the German Film Festivals on Tour event .
She teaches film criticism at the Free University of Berlin .
Since August 2019 she has headed the Berlinale Forum , which is organized by the Arsenal - Institute for Film and Video Art eV as an independent program within the framework of the Berlinale.
