Crotalus totonacus is a species of rattlesnake ( Crotalus ), whose range extends from Mexico across Central America. Until 2004, this species was listed as a subspecies of the shower rattlesnake ( C. durissus ).

features

Crotalus totonacus is a relatively large species of rattlesnake with an adult body length of over 1.50 meters. The longest known specimen was 1,665 meters long.

distribution

The range of the snake stretches from northeastern Mexico in central Nuevo León through southern Tamaulipas , northern Veracruz , eastern San Luis Potosí and northern Querétaro .
