Cruks en Karnak is an Ecuadorian band that was formed in Quito in 1989 . It is considered one of the best Latin rock formations in South America.
Cruks en Karnak mix rock music with pop , Latin American music , funk and South American folklore . Her music is often compared with that of Juanes .
The band is named after the physicist Sir William Crookes and the Egyptian temple in Karnak .
For the 2006 soccer World Cup , Cruks en Karnak released A mi lindo Ecuador , the official World Cup song of the Ecuadorian team . It is a new version of an Ecuadorian folk song. At the 2006 World Cup, Cruks en Karnak played for the first time in Germany, including in Berlin with Culcha Candela and at the NRWM Fan Festival in 12 cities in North Rhine-Westphalia.
