Csiffáry de Csiffár és Nemespann is an old Hungarian noble family that comes from Neutra County .

history

The first known family member was Ferenc Csiffáry , who was a minister of the Bishop of Veszprém and was probably killed in Zalaegerszeg around 1542 .

Other family members who appear in the sources from 1570 in Vráble were known in the Turkish census as János Csifár with his brother Matthias . They were later mentioned in the Bars County's nobility census from 1594–95.

During the 17th century, family members appeared in sources from the Archbishop, Bars County, and other business organizations and locations, among others. All of these data suggest that the family members included in the sources may have belonged to the nobility.

Originally, the noble family belonged to the ecclesiastical nobility of the so-called Verebélyi és szentgyörgyi érseki szék ( Slovak : Stolica Arcibiskupských Predialistov vo Vrábľoch (av Jure nad Hronom) and in Latin : latinul Sedes de Verebel et Sancti Georgii). In 1649 part of the family moved to Nitra and received from Emperor Ferdinand III. a letter of nobility for Stephanus and for his wife Magdalena Bosoky, together with his brothers Andreas, Gregorius, Thomas and his half-brother Stephanus Tarr.

His successors, Márton and Gergely, received the Paňa rule from Archbishop Miklós Csáky in 1755 .

The family branched out from Nitra and owned estates in Vlčany , Pohranice and Kukučínov . Thus they married aristocratic families like Bory , Visky , Pallya, Palasthy and the patrician family Turay.
