history

The place was first mentioned in writing as Pagran in 1075 when he came to the newly founded abbey in today's Hronský Beňadik . At that time, 15 farms, vineyards and six Joch arable land were recorded. In 1113 ownership changed to the Zobor monastery, in 1218 to the Archdiocese of Gran and to the Diocese of Neutra, Graner and Neutraer Kapitel and the Forgách family. In 1479 two places called Nagpogran and Kyspogran are mentioned.

The divided village suffered during the Turkish Wars in the 16th and 17th centuries and was burned down in 1576. Only after the end of the Kuruzzen uprisings in the early 18th century was the place able to recover. In 1787 there are 120 houses and 920 inhabitants. In 1808 a place called Eger was incorporated.

Until 1918 the village in Nitra County belonged to the Kingdom of Hungary and then came to Czechoslovakia and then to Slovakia. From 1976 to 1990 the neighboring village of Hosťová was part of the municipality.
