Rumanová (until 1927 Slovak also "Romanová"; Hungarian Románfalva - until 1907 Románfalu ) is a Slovak municipality in Okres Nitra and Nitriansky kraj with 820 inhabitants (as of December 31, 2019).
geography
The municipality is located in the western part of the hilly Nitrianska pahorkatina within the Slovakian Danube lowlands in a gentle valley of the Rumanovský creek in the catchment area of the Waag . The center of the village is at an altitude of 160 m nm and is 16 kilometers from Hlohovec and 23 kilometers from Nitra and Sereď .
Neighboring municipalities are Sasinkovo and Kľačany in the north, Rišňovce in the northeast, Veľké Zálužie in the east, Báb in the south, Pusté Sady in the southwest and Zemianske Sady in the west.
history
The place was first mentioned in writing in 1369 as Romanfolva . In the 16th century the village was owned by the Farkas , Desseő and Szentpétery families , and in the 18th century by Andrássy , Esterházy and Sándor . In 1828 there were 55 houses and 385 inhabitants, whose main source of income was agriculture.
Until 1918, the place in Neutra County belonged to the Kingdom of Hungary and then came to Czechoslovakia or now Slovakia.

According to the 2011 census, Rumanová had 795 inhabitants, including 765 Slovaks and four Czechs. 26 residents gave no answer. 676 residents committed themselves to the Roman Catholic Church, six residents to the Evangelical Church AB, two residents to the Greek Catholic Church and one resident each to the Orthodox Church and the Czechoslovak Hussite Church; three residents professed a different denomination. 68 inhabitants were without religious denomination and the denomination of 38 inhabitants has not been determined.
