Pusté Sady (until 1948 Slovak "Pustá Kert", Hungarian Pusztakürt ) is a municipality in the west of Slovakia with 601 inhabitants (December 31, 2019), which for Okres Galanta of, part kraj Trnavský heard.
geography
The municipality is located in the Slovakian Danube lowlands on the southwestern edge of its part Nitrianska pahorkatina ( Neutra hill country ). Within this region, it is located in the gentle valley of the Jarčie stream , a few kilometers from the Waag . The center of the village is at an altitude of 136 m nm and is 13 kilometers from Sereď , 16 kilometers from Hlohovec and 21 kilometers from Galanta .
Neighboring communities are Zemianske Sady in the north. Rumanová in the northeast, Báb in the east, Pata in the south and Šintava and Vinohrady nad Váhom in the west.
history
The place was mentioned in writing for the first time in 1156 as Kurt and was then the place of royal trumpeters. It was part of the estate of Schintau (today Šintava), in 1398 the place became the property of the Gran chapter. Later the village changed various noble owners such as the families Chizy , Thúry and Henezy in the 16th and 17th centuries and Záhy , Andrássy and Esterházy in the 18th and 19th centuries. In 1828 there were 60 houses and 419 inhabitants, whose main source of income was agriculture. Viticulture was also practiced in the village until 1715.
Until 1918, the place in Neutra County belonged to the Kingdom of Hungary and then came to Czechoslovakia or now Slovakia.

According to the 2011 census, Pusté Sady had 596 inhabitants, 584 of whom were Slovaks, six Magyars and one Roma. One resident indicated a different ethnic group and four residents gave no information. 519 residents committed themselves to the Roman Catholic Church, eight residents to the Evangelical Church AB and one resident to the Reformed Church. 44 residents had no denomination and the denomination of 24 residents has not been determined.
