Kráľov Brod (until 1927 in Slovak "Králová"; in Hungarian Királyrév ) is a municipality in western Slovakia . It is located in the Danube lowlands , 17 km southeast of Galanta .
history
The first written mention of the village as a royal property comes from the year 1252. It was later named in Hungarian as Királyrév because of its royal ferry . In 1910 the village had 785 mostly Hungarian residents. The municipality belonged to the Kingdom of Hungary in Pressburg County until 1918 .
After the end of the First World War it came to Czechoslovakia as a result of the Treaty of Trianon , and from 1938 to 1945 it was again part of Hungary due to the First Vienna Arbitration . After the end of the Second World War it was rejoined to Czechoslovakia and has been part of Slovakia since 1993 .
