Mojmírovce (until 1948 Slovak "Urmín"; Hungarian Ürmény ) is a municipality in western Slovakia , in Nitriansky kraj . It is located in the Danube lowlands about 14 km south of Nitra .
The place was first mentioned in 1156 as Ylmer . It was in 1948 like many other places in the area in Mojmírovce, after the first ruler of the Mährerreichs , I. Mojmir renamed. From 1808 to 1940 the place Poýný Kesov belonged to the municipality, until 1956 Veľká Dolina was also part of it. From 1986 to 1997, Štefanovičová was a district, and Svätoplukovo was also part of the municipality from 1976 to 1990.
