Malé Zálužie (up to 1948 Slovak "Ujlaček"; Hungarian Újlacska ) is a municipality in Slovakia .
It is located in the western parts of the Nitrianska pahorkatina ("Neutra hill country") about 18 kilometers northwest of the city of Nitra on the course of the Radošinka river .
In 1390 the place was first mentioned in writing as Kys Wylak as belonging to the dominion of Topoltschan Castle . From 1550 the place was under the rule of the Gici family , in 1600 and again in 1601 the place burned down. The rule over the inhabitants, who mainly worked in viticulture, passed to the Just s family in the 18th century and to the Prónai s in the 19th century . Evangelical Bohemians settled in the community around 1750, and a second wave came at the beginning of the 20th century. It was not until 1903 that the town had its own school, and since 1909 the railway has also reached the town. Until 1918 the place was part of the Kingdom of Hungary , after which it came to the newly formed Czechoslovakia .
Until 1948 the community was called Slovak Ujlaček , due to the linguistic proximity of this name to Hungarian, like many other places in what was then Czechoslovakia, it got a Slavic-sounding or Slavic name.
