history

Veľký Cetín was burned down four times by the Turks in 1530, 1554 and twice in the 17th century. In 1715 the village had vineyards and 56 households, in 1787 there were 157 houses and 847 inhabitants and finally in 1828 137 houses and 961 inhabitants. The majority of the inhabitants were employed in agriculture and viticulture.
