Heredia

Heredia is a city in the Central American state of Costa Rica and the capital of the province of the same name . The city has 130,894 inhabitants (2010) and is located at 1150 m. ü. M. Heredia is home to one of the largest universities in Costa Rica, the Universidad Nacional de Costa Rica .
history
The city was founded in 1570 under the name Cubujuquí . It later changed its name to Villavieja until it adopted its current one in 1763 .
