Manfred "Manito" Alonso Ugalde Arce (born May 25, 2002 in Heredia ) is a Costa Rican soccer player who is under contract with the Belgian second division club Lommel SK . The striker has been a Costa Rican international since February 2020 .

Career

Ugalde began playing football at CS Herediano in his hometown of the same name . The 14-year-old moved in 2016. The young striker quickly made his way into the reserve team and at Clausura 2019 he was promoted to the first team by coach Vladimir Quesada . On the first day of the match he was substituted on for Randy Chirino in the final phase of the home game against Limón FC and in the 93rd minute he headed the equalizer to make it 2-2. In the remainder of the 2018/19 season he played in six other league games, in which, however, he did not score.

In the following season 2019/20 he got the chance in the starting line-up Saprissas due to an injury to the traditional striker David Ramírez Ruiz . On July 25, 2019 (2nd matchday of Apertura), Ugalde scored his team with two goals for a 3-0 home win against AD Municipal Pérez Zeledón .
