Cultural Leonesa was created on August 5, 1923 through the merger of the two clubs La Victoria and Gimnástica . The first president was Miguel Gutiérrez Díez-Canseco . The greatest success of the club was participation in the first Spanish league in the 1955/56 season , which ended in 15th.
