The Estadio Municipal Reino de León is a football stadium in the Spanish city ​​of León , Autonomous Community of Castile and León . It is the home ground of the Cultural Leonesa football club .

history

The facility was inaugurated on May 20, 2001 under the name Nuevo Estadio Antonio Amilivia with a match between the home team and Deportivo Xerez . On April 2, 2003, the Spanish national football team played a game in the 2004 European Championship against Armenia . In September 2008, the city council replaced the name Antonio Amilivia , a former president of the Cultural Leonesa football club, with Reino de León ( German  Kingdom of León ).

The stadium has a capacity of 13,451 seats. The tiers are completely covered. The four oversized and heavily inwardly inclined masts of the floodlight system are characteristic of the Estadio de León .

In addition to hosting football matches, the venue also serves as a venue for concerts. So played, among others, Shakira (20 June 2006) and Maná (23 June 2007) at the Estadio de Reino Leon.
