The Curlew Cove is a small cove in the northwest of Thatcher Peninsula on the north coast of South Georgia in the South Atlantic . It is located between Camp Peak and Stenhouse Peak at the entrance to the Carr Valley . Its bank above the beach is characterized by cliffs covered with tussock .
The UK Antarctic Place-Names Committee named her in 2007 after the yacht Curlew , built in 1905 , owned by Tim and Pauline Carr from 1992, curators of the South Georgia Museum from 1992 to 2007 , which had served the couple for sailing trips in the waters around South Georgia part of the National Maritime Museum in Falmouth since 2002 .
